     Technology (AASUT)

The Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology (AASUT) was officially founded in 1985. The alumni of SUT consist of the graduates and the faculty and staff who have studied and worked in SUT and its predecessor Shenyang Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College and the people in various kind of field all over the world who have been awarded various honorary titles by the university. Since 1949, more than 150 thousand students have graduated from the university.

In 1985, when the university was renamed SUT,the first alumni Congress was held and the first alumni Council was established.At present, 70 branches of AASUT have been built and have prepared to build in the areas where oversea alumni gather, in Chinese major cities and inall prefectural level cities in Liaoning province, which have formed a network around the world.

The oversea branches of AASUT which have been built include:Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology of Australia, Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology of Canada.The oversea branches of AASUT which have prepared to build include:Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology of Japan, Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology of the U.S. and Alumni Association of Shenyang University of Technology of Africa and so on.

The work of AASUT has been highly valued. In 2007, a special committee was built to promote the work of AASUT, in which the chairman was the vice president of the SUT and the members were deans of the departments who are responsible for the work of the Alumni. The committeehas provided policy support and the operation guidance on organizing and communicating with the alumni and promoting the culture cultivation and the development of the alumni Association.

In 2009,AASUT held itsfourth alumni Congress and the re-election meeting.In 2012, AASUT also held its fifth alumni Congress and the re-election meeting. In 2016,the worldAlumni Forum of Shenyang University of Technology was set up and it has been held twice so far.

Over years’ persistent efforts, AASUT has grown rapidly with the growing perfection of alumni organizations in various places, with theforming of alumni culture on campus,with the gradually richatmosphere of alumni donation, and with the increasingly active communication and cooperation between alumni and the university.
