The 29th National University Table Tennis Championship (Group A), Northeast Division, was held at SUT from October 11th to 12th. This event was organized by the China Student Sports Federation. Participants of this event include more than 300 athletes and coaches from 27 universities across Beijing, Tianjin, and so on.
At the opening ceremony, Chen Yanming, vice president of SUT, was present along with other officials and referees. Mr. Chen delivered a speech, emphasizing the significance of hosting the event and the value SUT has been placing on physical education in nurturing our students. Wang Kun, representative of the China Student Sports Federation, also delivered a speech, highlighting the role of this event in fostering the spirit of perseverance among students. After that, representatives of athletes and referees took the oath in the name of all competitors.
All participants demonstrated exceptional skills and sportsmanship throughout the event. In the end, Jilin University won the first place in the mixed team competition, Harbin University of Technology and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences coming the second and the third, respectively. The top eight teams advanced to the national finals. The experience of holding event like this provides a clear roadmap for SUT for refining our physical education system that is meaningful for cultivating well-rounded students in the new era.
