On October 22nd, 2025, the 2nd batch of the China medical team from Liaoning province set out to depart for the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Song Yan, teacher from the School of Foreign Studies of SUT, was designated as the English interpreter for the China medical team that was going to provide medical service at the Pohnpei State Hospital of the FSM for one year. The designation of Miss Song is an important measure taken by SUT as a non-medical institution to implement the instructions of China’s foreign aid and building a global community health for all.
Before their departure, SUT held a farewell meeting for the China medical team. Vice President Xia Mingchao presided over the farewell meeting. He paid tribute to Miss Song’s spirit and responsibilities, hoping that she would strictly abide by related regulations, fulfill her duties and keep herself safe. Miss Song expressed her gratitude for the university’s support and stated that she will exert her expertise to promote China-FSM medical cooperation and deepen friendship between the two countries.
