Environmental Engineering

Environmental Engineering is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to enhancing environmental quality and advancing sustainable socio-economic-ecological development. It was established in 1999 and designated as the "Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, and addresses pollution control and energy conservation challenges while serving Liaoning Province, revitalizing Northeast China’s industrial base, and extending national impact. We develop innovative professionals equipped with core expertise in water/air/solid waste treatment, environmental chemistry/microbiology/ecology, and impact assessment; practical capabilities for designing pollution control systems, environmental monitoring, analytical instrumentation development, and data analytics applications; and research competence to innovate environmental theories/processes/technologies. Graduates demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, and are capable of leading technical R&D, engineering design, environmental assessments, operations management, and scientific research across environmental sectors.

Energy Chemical Engineering

Energy Chemical Engineering is one of the undergraduate programs in national strategic emerging industries approved by the Ministry of Education to accelerate China's energy development, solve energy problems, and meet the major national energy strategic needs. It focuses on the transformation and upgrading of traditional energy, the efficient and clean conversion of energy and new energy materials, and creates a "new engineering" major with the characteristic direction of "comprehensive utilization of coal, electrochemical energy storage, and hydrogen energy and chemical industry", and explores technological innovation, promotes the optimization of energy structure, leads industrial transformation and upgrading, and cultivates innovative and application-oriented talents for the realization of scientific utilization and sustainable development of energy based on the professional knowledge of energy and chemical industry. This program cultivates highly competent and innovative professionals who master fundamental principles, knowledge, and skills covering the production of fossil and renewable energy sources, their efficient and clean conversion and utilization, energy storage processes, and relevant chemical processing techniques. Graduates develop expertise in process energy optimization and the design of energy-chemical engineering processes, preparing them for careers in chemical production, operations management, technical management, process design, technology development, and scientific research within key energy sectors such as fossil energy conversion and utilization, petrochemical and natural gas processing, and new energy technologies.
