International Engineering and Language Service
Guided by national strategy and social needs, the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) has established the interdisciplinary master’s program of “International Engineering and Language Services” and completed its registration with the Ministry of Education in 2023. This program, relying on the three advantageous disciplines of SUT (mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and management science and engineering), encompasses three directions: language services for mechanical and electrical engineering, language services for architectural engineering, and language services for international business.
This Master’s program is committed to integrating language learning with related disciplines such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and management science and engineering. It aims to cultivate multi-skilled talents who are equipped with knowledge of managing international engineering work, are familiar with its local culture, laws, and possess cross-cultural communication and language service abilities.
This program has a duration of 3 years, with a maximum study period of 4 years (including leave of absence). At least 27 credits should be completed for getting this Master’s Degree, including 12 credits for compulsory courses and 15 credits for elective courses.
Language Services for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
This direction combines the application of machinery knowledge in design, manufacturing, operation, and service with foreign language learning. It aims to help students to achieve effective output and application of mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge in an international context. The research content of this direction includes: research on language standards and norms for foreign languages in mechanical and electrical engineering, and research on translation; research on cross-cultural communication; Basic electromechanical theories and the applications of these theories in the industry; research on international electromechanical engineering project management; research on
Language Services for Architectural Engineering
