1. Field Profile (Code:0859)

Civil and Hydraulic Engineering is a collective term for the science and technology involved in constructing various engineering facilities. It refers not only to the objects of engineering construction but also to the materials, equipment, and specialized technologies applied throughout planning, surveying, design, construction, management, and maintenance. The fields covered include civil engineering (structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, disaster prevention and mitigation engineering, etc.), hydraulic engineering (water resources and hydropower, hydraulic structures, hydraulics and river dynamics, etc.), artificial environment (heating, gas supply, ventilation, and air conditioning engineering), and energy systems (wind energy, geothermal energy, etc.), among many other engineering disciplines.

This program possesses the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Building Materials Mechanics, the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Infrastructure Safety and Protection Engineering, and the Provincial Experimental Teaching Center for Mechanics and Civil Engineering. The laboratories maintain long-term cooperative relationships with research institutes such as the Wuhan Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics and enterprises like the Liaoning Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute. Leveraging its strong industrial resource background and foundational academic strengths, the program has established provincial-level practical education bases with enterprises such as China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group and Sino-German Sinsun Education. Additionally, it has signed industry-university-research cooperation agreements with more than ten companies, including China Railway 19th Bureau Group and Baichuan Weiye (Tianjin) Construction, creating an integrated “industry-research + education + teaching integration” talent cultivation model.
