Ⅰ. Electrical engineering and its automation

The students of electrical engineering and its automation mainly studies basis engineering technology and professional knowledge including theory of electrical circuit, electric power & electronic technology, electromagnetic fields, electrical machine, electrical appliances, analysis of power system, theory of automatic control, computer and SCM technology. The students require solid basis knowledge of nature science, have good foundation of humanities, social science and management science, and acquire the listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability of English. The students also systematically master the essential technology, take part in basic training related with content requirements. Furthermore, they can solve engineering problems in this field, undergo some research works of science research, technology development and management; and have strong sense of innovation and ability for further education.

Ⅱ. Automation

The specialty of automation is one of the specialties with wide application and strong comprehensiveness, which focuses on comprehensive applications of control theory, informatics technique, and computer technology. The specialty of automation mainly researches on the principle & method of auto-control, automation unit technology and integrated technology, and also their applications in different control systems. The main courses in this major are electro-technology, electronic technique, theory of auto-control, electrical machine and its application, principle of microcomputer, computer control technology, network technique and artificial intelligence.

Ⅲ. Biomedical Engineering

The specialty of biomedical engineering synthesizing modern electronic technology, informatics technology, and theory & methods of physics and medical science, utilizes engineering technology to research detection and control of human physiological and pathological information, and serves humans for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation with the help of medical instruments. This major requires students to know well basic principle and design methods of medical instrument related electronic technologies, grasp basic theory of physiological signal detection and signal processing & analysis, and cultivate ability of applying and developing of computer software and internet. Furthermore, the students must master basic knowledge of biological and medical science, principal methods of auxiliary diagnosis of medical image and medical science, methods of literature retrieval and information retrieval. The students also comprehend the developments and prospects of biomedical engineering, grasp technologies in biomedical engineering involving scientific research, manufacturing medical instruments, operation, repair, and management of large scale medical devices. The specialty of biomedical engineering already established laboratory of medical electronics, laboratory of advanced medical instruments, laboratory of medical signal and image processing, medical basis laboratory, cytobiology laboratory, and institute of rehabilitation robots.

Ⅳ. New Energy Science and Engineering

The specialty of new energy science and engineering in SEE is one of the wide range and comprehensive specialties, which focuses on researches involving principle of conversion and utilization of renewable energy, control technology, wind power equipment and system operation technology. It mainly cultivates compound engineering and technical talents serving for national new energy industry. The engineers can engage in wind power equipment manufacturing, wind plant related occupations involving development, construction and operation management. The specialty of new energy science and engineering focuses on cultivating talents with overall development of morality, wisdom, body and beauty, adaption to social development. The students must grasp fundamental theory, professional knowledge & technique, improve practical technique of design and operation in wind power generation. Furthermore, the students must own innovative entrepreneurial spirit and comprehensive quality, who can be qualified for occupations such as design and operating maintenance of wind power generation devices, and engineering comprehensive applications of new energy.
