Doctoral Degree Training Program in Electrical Engineering‌(0808)

(1) Training Objectives

Oriented towards the needs of national construction and scientific development, this program addresses the demand for research, teaching, technological innovation, and management talents in enterprises, higher education institutions, and scientific research institutes within the field of electrical engineering. It aims to cultivate well-rounded, high-level innovative talents who are morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and laboriously developed, with strong independent scientific research capabilities. The doctoral students in this discipline should meet the following requirements:

(2) Patriotism and Ethical Standards‌:

Have a deep love for their country, adhere to a firm and correct political orientation, possess a high sense of social responsibility, a rigorous and truthful scientific attitude and work style, good professional ethics, keen insight, perception, and independent thinking abilities in academic research. They should also have excellent academic literacy and ethics, as well as good physical and mental health.

(3) Solid Theoretical and Professional Knowledge‌:

Possess solid and broad foundational theories and systematic in-depth professional knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, with a comprehensive understanding of the current status, development directions, and international academic frontiers of relevant research areas within the discipline.

(4) Independent Scientific Research Capabilities‌:

Have the ability to independently engage in scientific research and achieve innovative research results in the discipline.

(5) Scientific Attitude and Work Style‌:

Demonstrate a rigorous and truthful, innovative scientific attitude and work style, as well as good scientific research ethics.

(6) Foreign Language Proficiency‌:

Master at least one foreign language, be able to skillfully read foreign language literature in relevant fields of the discipline, possess good foreign language writing skills, and have an international perspective, cross-cultural communication and cooperation abilities, as well as competitive participation capabilities.

(8) Training Methods‌

The training of academic doctoral students in electrical engineering focuses on scientific research work, with an emphasis on cultivating their ability to independently engage in scientific research. Based on the requirements of the training program, the needs of dissertation work, and individual characteristics, relevant courses are taken. Under the premise of broadening their foundations, deepening their specializations, and mastering the forefront of the discipline, they are cultivated to have a rigorous scientific style and the ability to carry out creative scientific research work.

The supervisor is the primary responsible person for the cultivation of doctoral students. They should educate doctoral students to adhere to the correct political orientation and ideals, guide them to consciously abide by scientific research integrity and academic ethics, assist them in career planning, actively provide employment assistance, and fulfill daily management responsibilities. They should actively participate in formulating graduate training plans, coordinate and arrange graduate research and practical activities, encourage graduates to actively participate in domestic and international academic exchanges, cultivate their innovative consciousness and abilities, and stimulate their innovative potential.

(9) Academic Duration and Credits

The regular academic duration for ordinary academic doctoral students in electrical engineering is 4 years, with a maximum study period of 6 years (including leave of absence). Ordinary academic doctoral students should obtain at least 15 to 19 credits, including 6 mandatory credits, 7 to 11 elective credits, and 2 credits for academic activities and reports.
